This is a beautiful model with movement.A particularly nice example of this model in perfect vintage condition.
Model nos 2869 “Spirit of Freedom “is 7 inches 17.8 cm high 
He is in the Series “Spirit Horses “which was expanded when Royal Doulton(having taken over the Beswick factory in 1969 )decided in 1989 to make the vast majority of animals produced at the Beswick factory into Royal Doulton  animals with DA numbers.
This example has a round Beswick backstamp indicating an early version of this particular model- produced between 1982-1989only.He also has quite spectacular shading !
The 'Spirit' series of horses (and foals)was developed by Grahame Tongue  portraying various types of horses in typical poses reflected by the names given to them-this is probably my favourite with its flowing movement and magical form.
A great stand alone piece as a point of interest even in the most minimalist home!or a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection!or fantastic gift for a horse lover!
